Sheila Mikhail has over 20 years of biopharmaceutical leadership experience, most recently serving as chief executive officer of AskBio, which she co-founded in 2001. She led the sale of AskBio to Bayer in December 2020, in a deal valued at up to $4 billion. Sheila is the chief executive officer of Jurata Thin Film, a biomedical device company she co-founded. Previously, she served as chief executive officer of Bamboo Therapeutics until its acquisition by Pfizer in 2016. Before Bamboo, she was part of the management team at Chatham Therapeutics prior to its acquisition by Bayer in 2014. Sheila has practiced law for more than 15 years, during which time she founded and served as managing member of Life Sciences Law, which serviced clients including Bayer, Gilead Sciences, Inc., GlaxoSmithKline plc and Sanofi S.A.
Sheila is a former certified public accountant. She received a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a J.D. from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
