Lonnel Coats is an industry veteran, currently serving as chief executive officer and director at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Lexicon, Lonnel held a series of executive leadership positions at Eisai Inc. and Eisai Corporation of North America, where he worked for 18 years, most recently as chief executive officer. Previously, he spent eight years with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, where he held a variety of management and sales positions. He is also a director of Blueprint Medicines Corporation.

Lonnel holds a B.S. in Public Administration from Oakland University.
